I purchased the mower to help keep the lawn under control while I am away. It worked fine the first time and I was happy, but the moment I left the area, it gets stuck every time it mows, completely negating the usefulness. Even with a mostly flat lawn, it is getting hung up on the smallest mounds or in sandy soil.
After mapping, it was a challenge to designate transition zones, so it wouldn’t cross the driveway. This was overcome by taking it around the entire house to get the small strip of grass.
I really wanted to love this and was excited to keep the lawn in check. When it works, it does a good job, but be careful if you are not there to babysit it.
The device is very quiet and you can barely hear it. The zones and schedules are also fairly easy to set.
If you are using it on an established lawn with firm soil, it should be fine and the wheels have spikes to grip. But be aware of the limitations if you have portions with loose sandy soil.
